Récompence - Editing..

I'm in the middle of editing the movie now. I am doing it all in black and white with strong contrasts (as planned from day 1), and meanwhile I've asked camera man Mikael Johansson to edit a scene in color for me, because we're not agreeing on the black and white/color thing at this state. If he can manage to impress me we might be going with color, but so far, no matter how I edit it, I'm not pleased in color.

The movie is filmed, it all went great! Except for the fact that Mariette most likely froze to death, that is. She was great though! Everyone was, really. It has been stressful, but fantastic, and we got it done in two days. About 20 hours in the woods.

We're getting ready to start filming today. Amelie is putting makeup on Mariette. Starting with standard makeup, will go on to the wounds later, woo!

Récompence - The day is near!

We are two days away from filming, and our team of 9 people just became a team of 7 when two backed out. That also means we have 2 cars less. And it also means I need to find atleast one more actor, because one of the two who dropped played a small but important role in the film.

But we're rolling along! Have most things fixed for the big day. Tomorrow the camera man and a friend of mine are coming over here and will stay the weekend. Lots of discussing to do tomorrow!

Récompence - Camera and camera operator!

We have finally got a camera to use and someone to operate it! We now also have a steadicam. The camera operator is actually the boyfriend of a close friend of mine that I got to know back in late 2004 and have been friends with her since then. Her boyfriend has more experience behind the camera than I do and already had his own stuff so it worked out well for us. I've only met him once at a festival last month and I think we hit off good. Welcome to the team Mikael Johansson!

Récompence - Meeting with the sound guys

Had a meeting with the sound guys yesterday, one of them is a good friend and the other one is someone he knows. All I can say is that it went great, we went through the entire film discussing all the sound and music.

Récompence - New logo + Production video

Preston finally sent me the logo for the film, and needless to say, it kicks butt. It fits the film alot more than the other one, and it also strays away from a typical dark theme. The film might be dark at times, but it's actually all about puppies, rainbows, love and sugar! Check it:

I have also uploaded a video updating Youtube a bit on the production of the film.. or actually, making Youtube aware of the film, since nothing has been mentioned about it on Youtube until now. I've been keeping hush for a while, especially as far as details go. You can watch the video here:

Récompence - Lead actress picked! + Date of filming

What can I say? The meeting yesterday went superb, and all I really can say is that the lead actress has been picked. I will post a picture of her later in the week.

We have also set a date for filming this film, and it will be around 22nd - 23rd of May. YES, it is this month. We know, we know!

Sooooo, the possible lead actress will be calling me tomorrow and we'll set a date for our meeting. I hope all you numbskulls are holding your thumbs tight that she'll be a good fit.

We might also have found a camera we can use. If all turns out good on this end, 50% of my concerns are gone. We're working fast, and hopefully we'll have this thing out in decent time!

I started this blog for the film today. I will be using this to update you all on the production of "Récompence".

I don't wanna give too much away just yet, but I can say that the script has been written and well-received. We are looking for the lead actress, and I MIGHT have found a perfect fit. As for other crew, we're working on it.

Also, we have found sponsorship for the blood ;)
